What to Expect at Your First Visit
Your journey as a Center for Generative Medicine client, begins with an Initial Visit.
Getting Started
Upon contacting our practice, you will be provided with a detailed description of services, fees, and the process timeline.
When a New Patient Visit is scheduled, you’ll be sent an invitation to join our portal. There, you’ll find a few important documents to sign, including a Consent to Treatment, Notice of Privacy Practices, and a Financial Agreement. You’ll also be sent a New Patient Questionnaire, which will ask about your concerns, goals, questions, and health history.
One week before your initial visit, and all future return visits, you’ll receive an email confirmation.
First Visit (60 minutes)
You will receive an appointment reminder with a Zoom link. If you have any documents you’d like to be reviewed prior to your appointment, you can upload them to the client portal.
You’ll spend about 40 mins comprehensively discussing your health history and current concerns in order to develop a strategy for identifying any underlying causality, and plan how to best address this.
Your CGM naturopathic physician will briefly step away from the meeting to put together some initial considerations that they will spend the final 10-15 minutes of your appointment reviewing with you and answering any questions you have.
This might include additional data that needs to be collected, as well as diet, supplement and herb considerations. We utilize a number of functional tests that provide us with copious amounts to data that can be utilized to best understand your unique situation, biometrics, genetics, hormones, metabolism and microbiome.
Data Review
Once testing and analytics are complete, we schedule a follow-up to review the results and discuss findings and answer any questions you may have. Based on the findings, there will likely be recommendations, personalized dietary guidelines, and lifestyle advice that is personalized to your specific needs.
Testing is not necessary in all cases and we will always be transparent with regards to the benefits and necessity of any tests discussed.
Follow-Up (60 minutes)
Typically after 6-12 weeks, you’ll meet for a Progress Check to check in, share your updates and progress, and tweak your plan if necessary. From then on, visits frequency can vary depending on how things are progressing. Many of our patients appreciate the accountability that regular 3-month visits can offer. Others prefer to visit every 6 months.
Please note that after two years without a visit, you will have to return as a new patient, as your health will best be addressed with a full re-establishment intake.
